GTA V (-53%) reclaims the top spot from FIFA 14 (-66%) with the two trading places in their fourth week on sale.
The next generation of Pokemon games on Nintendo 3DS lands at third and fourth, with Pokemon X preferred over Pokemon Y. The combined first week figures are around double that of Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, perhaps aided by the hardware release of the Nintendo 2DS this week.
Beyond: Two Souls, from Parisian developer Quantic Dream and starring Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe, debuts this week at fifth on the PS3.
F1 2013 is pushed down three places with the new entries, but is ahead of Just Dance 2014, which rises two places to seventh.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition and Disney Infinity also fall three places to eighth and ninth respectively, due to high flying new entries.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD for Wii U drops six places to tenth.
Other new releases this week include Dragon’s Crown at nineteenth and Moshi Monsters: Katsuma Unleashed at twenty-eighth.
FIFA 14 is the best-selling game in the UK during the last week of September. Released on eight platforms, including the incoming Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the game takes a -24% cut in comparison to FIFA 13 week-one sales.
The record-breaking GTA V (-83%) drops to second, yet scores enough sales in it’s second week to rank eighteenth against all week-one releases to date.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition (-2%) takes third, with a minor dip in sales pushing it up three places.
Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 (-46%) and The Last of Us (-41%) drop two places to fourth and fifth respectively.
Disney Infinity gains two places and Splinter Cell: Blacklist drops two, ahead of Saints Row IV and Diablo III at eighth and ninth.
Rayman Legends (+34%) turns positive sales into a top ten finish after price promotion from retailers.
While Brit-model Cara Delevingne’s day job may be more about modelling, currently as the face of fashion brand Burberry, she’s soon going to be lending her vocal talent to the videogame industry. Revealed on her Instagram, Cara showed off her upcoming role as a radio DJ in Rockstar’s upcoming Grand Theft Auto V.

‘Shag a Gamer’, the infamous dating site aimed at lonely videogame players is intending to reach a six-figure deal with Rockstar Games.
With the release of the fifth main instalment of the Grand Theft Auto franchise imminent, Shag A Gamer is hoping to strike an agreement that will see Rockstar implement an in-game version of the upfront dating site, so that players and their characters can have dangerous liaisons.
