Was there any doubt what would be the best seller this week? Epic's epic sequel Gears of War 2 roadie-runs into the top spot on its debut week.
It took number one in both the format charts and the combined sales chart, on its way to the third best opening for a 360 title, behind GTA IV and Halo 3. More after the jump.
Aside from GoW 2, there were two other new entries in the top three in the form of Sony's excellent DIY platformer, Little Big Planet and the surprising appearance of Level 5's Professor Layton, which may have attracted the Brain Training crowd thanks to the recent TV campaign (well, it persuaded my Mum to pick up a copy).
Elsewhere, Wii Fit slipped to number six, Mario Kart Wii fought doggedly for fourth place and Fable 2 hung on to number ten.

4 (4) Mario Kart Wii - Nintendo (Wii)
5 (2) Fallout 3 - Bethesda (360)
6 (1) Wii Fit - Nintendo (Wii)
7 (8) Wii Play - Nintendo (Wii)
8 (6) FIFA 09 - EA (360)
9 (9) Brain Training - Nintendo (DS)

In the combined charts, last weeks best seller, Fallout 3 shifted down to third behind FIFA 09 which stubbornly refused to move from second place. A trio of new entries followed closely behind at four, five and six; Little Big Planet, WWE 2009 and Professor Layton on DS took those spots respectively. Strangely, Guitar Hero: World Tour couldn't make a dent on the charts which may be due, in part, to the full band pack being held back another week.
