Ignition has announced its latest venture into the world of video games, with fantasy action title El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron.
The title is currently being developed for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 by the company's Tokyo-based studio. The team behind the upcoming game features Sawaki Takeyasu and Masato Kimura, former gaming heavy-weights from Capcom and Clover respectively. Between them, the two have worked on titles such as Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe and Okami.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron makes use of some unique visuals (as the screenshot shows) and an intriguing good vs. evil storyline. In it, the protagonist Enoch (not to be confused with the 1970's right-wing politician) must save humankind from Fallen Angels before Heaven washes its hands of Earth altogether.
“When developing this title, it was imperative that we give these immensely talented game designers total artistic freedom,” says UTV Ignition Entertainment Chairman Hassan Sadiq. “And they have truly risen to the occasion by forging an adventure that combines a compelling, universally relatable story line with deep gameplay and a uniquely expressive visual style.”
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is set to be officially unveiled at E3.
