Harmonix and MTV Games announced that tracks by alternative rock groups Deftones, Boys Like Girls and Crown Of Thorns will be making their way to Rock Band as downloadable content for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the Wii this week.
Deftones were formed in California and have released six albums to date. Their Rock Band debut will be a three-song pack which includes “Cherry Waves” and “Hole In The Earth” from their 2006 album “Saturday Night Wrist”, and “Minerva” from the band’s 2003 self titled album. They released their newest album “Diamond Eyes” in May to critical acclaim. The pack, which is called “Deftones Pack 01” will be sold for £2.49.
“The Great Escape” from Boys Like Girls self-titled album and “Rock Steady” by Crown Of Thorns will also be added to the long list of downloadable songs for the game. These are available for 99p each.
Rock band now has over 400 exclusive artists to its brand, including Jimi Hendrix, The Who, AC/DC and Green Day, and has more than 1,500 songs available through the Rock Band platform. Rock Band has reportedly sold over 68 million songs through its download store alone.
