Uncharted 2 'Maxed Out' Playstation 3

The Playstation 3 has hit it's peak already, at least that's according to Uncharted 2 developers Naughty Dog. Developers are constantly pushing the boundaries of what a console can do and it seems that the people behind the next Uncharted title have done just that. When talking about the game at the Penny Arcade Expo, Naughty Dog's Amy Hennig said that the original only used a third of the consoles potential power while the sequel has "maxed it out".

For all you geeks out there, apparently this was done by focusing the majority of the processes on the SPUs rather than the main processor. In lamens terms it meant the main processor could concentrate on backgrounds while the SPUs sorted out the animation. Nice.

It may have used 100% now but there's no definite that developers coding won't get more efficient in the future and allow even more potential power to be used. We'll see. All I know is Uncharted 2 has got me very excited.
