Gamebrit's LittleBigPlanet Sackboy Contest Results
Posted by Danny Lilley on Jun 05, 2009 - 1:30 pm

As you will hopefully have seen, we have been running a contest to create a level in LittleBigPlanet to win both an official woollen Sackboy and £10 of iTunes monies. This ran from the 21st May to 4th June and, as promised, today we judged the submitted levels and have made our decision.

Sadly there were only two entries, which is a shame as we were judging not only on LittleBigPlanet level building skills but also humour, originality, relevance and above all…how fun the level is. So without further delay we present the winner of Gamebrit’s LittleBigPlanet Sackboy Contest:

Ctrl, Alt, Delete

by TheIndividual11

This level is based around the PS3 shooter Killzone 2 and features lots of shooting, explosions and heavy machinery. What we enjoyed about this level is that it truly captured the world of Killzone 2 while adding plenty of variety and a fair amount of challenge. We were particularly impressed by the tank section as well as the detail and good use of the Killzone downloadable level pack. The lighting and sound fitted perfectly and we came out of it feeling like we had achieved something.

So a big congratulations to you and your very own Sackboy will be on it’s way to you shortly so expect it early next week. Also we will be e-mailing you the £10 iTunes code asap.

The History of Tea

by DaveyJam

This level gave us a brief history into the well-loved British drink of tea. From the tea fields to the addition of some well-known faces we thoroughly enjoyed our foray into the past of the leafed drink. This journey provided more than a few laughs, or ‘lolz’ as the internet may define them, and despite it not being as technical as TheIndividual11’s offering, the level perfectly fitted the requirements. A bit more variety would have been welcome but still a highly recommended level.

Both entries have received hearts for the levels and for themselves as authors so they don’t go away empty handed. A big thanks to those who have entered and we recommend checking them out as well as any others on our forum
