Retailer GameStop Sees UK Growth, Will Introduce Loyalty Scheme
Retailer GameStop has reportedly seen ‘triple digit’ growth within the UK over the course of the past few years.
Speaking to MCV, the global game seller detailed how despite having no High Street stores in the UK, unlike main rival GAME, the company has seen sizeable growth online.
The UK is a unique market for GameStop, being the only country in which the firm operates online only. The company has over 6,000 stores worldwide in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and across certain European markets.
GameStop’s Mike Mauler told MCV that the lack of UK stores did create challenges when it comes to multi-channel marketing, but that despite these challenges the company does not plan to enter the UK High Street.
Mauler added that GameStop will introduce a loyalty programme to the UK website.
