UK Chart: LEGO Lasting

The LEGO Movie Videogame built on the movies continued success over the school holidays.

The film topped the UK Box Office with £18.9 million in earnings in its opening weekend, and a sequel film has also been announced for planned release in May 2017. The result? The LEGO Movie Videogame sitting a top the UK chart for another week.

A massive nine LEGO titles occupy spots in the top forty; all of which have been developed by Cheshire based Traveller’s Tales. The combined UK revenue generated by the nine games now stands at over £145 million.

FIFA 14 (+22%) received a price promotion in order to boost sales and its position to in the chart to second. As a result, Call of Duty: Ghosts (-23%) falls to third.

Another set of promotions on the last generation versions of Battlefield 4 (+15%) bring it up to fourth from seventh.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition rise to fifth and sixth respectively, dropping Grand Theft Auto V to seventh.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag sticks in at eighth.

A new release for WiiU, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze enters at ninth on a single platform.

Rayman Legends gains two new platforms on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, giving it a significant sales boost and a place in the top ten.

Another new release, Rambo: The Video Game, from Polish developers Teyon, lands at twenty-first place.
