UK Chart: Ghosts At The Top With Early PS4 Sales
Call of Duty: Ghosts swoops in as the best selling title of last week, but unlike its predecessors does not break as many records.
Despite being top, Ghosts takes third behind GTA V and FIFA 14, in terms of 2013 launch week sales.
Peculiarly Call of Duty: Ghosts was also released for the PlayStation 4, a whole three weeks before the console is due to launch. The PS4 version of Ghosts managed to accumulate sales numbers to rival Assassin’s Creed IV and Battlefield 4 sales on PlayStation 3. Other sales of this years COD comprised of a 62% share on Xbox 360 and 34% on PS3. The PS4 version also outsold the Wii U version.
Battlefield 4 (-63%) is entrenched at second as Assassin’s Creed IV (-54%) tumbles to third. FIFA 14 (-16%) and GTA V (-31%) follow suit, to fourth and fifth respectively.
PC, Wii U, and 3DS releases can’t help Batman: Arkham Origins (-55%) recover sales as it crashes to sixth.
WWE 2K14 (-57%) and Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition (-3%) hold on at seventh and eighth, the former with significantly less sales this week.
Football Manager 2014 (-65%) drops to ninth from sixth, but is saved from tenth by Skylanders: Swap Force (+2%).
The last in the Professor Layton series, Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy debuts on 3DS at thirteenth.
