UK Chart: Brilliant Batman Dominant Despite Disappointing Demand

Batman: Arkham Origins

Batman: Arkham Origins sits on top of the UK chart, having been released last week. Developed by Warner Bros. Montreal, rather than London-based Rocksteady Studios, it achieved around half the launch sales of Batman: Arkham City.

The remaining titles in the top six all drop one places from last week. FIFA 14 (-21%) closes the gap on GTA V (-28%). Skylanders Swap Force (-50%) takes half the sales of the opening week at fourth. Pokemon X and Pokemon Y slot into fifth and sixth respectively.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition sticks to seventh place, as LEGO The Lord of the Rings (+266%) and Moshi Monsters: Katsuma Unleashed (+350%) are bundled into hardware promotions to raise sales numbers to push them to eighth and ninth.

Just Dance 2014 is the only title in the top ten to lose a place, as it falls from ninth to tenth.

Other new releases this week include Rocksmith 2014 Edition at fifteenth, expansion The Sims 3: Into the Future at eighteenth, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at twenty-seventh.
