Ashes Cricket 2013 Delayed Again, Pushed Back To November
Ashes Cricket 2013 has been delayed until November.
Publisher 505 Games explained that the delay was due to the game not being “good enough in its current state”.
This marks the second time the 360, PS3, PC and Wii U title has faced delay. Originally Ashes Cricket 2013 was due to arrive in June alongside the first Ashes series, but was pushed back to an unspecified July date. With the month now almost up, 505 confirmed the game is now due for release in the Autumn, to coincide with the year’s second Ashes series.
Speaking of the delay, 505 Games’ Tim Woodley said:
“We took a long hard look at the game as it stands and decided it simply wasn’t good enough in its current state. It was simply not worthy of the Ashes name.”
According to Woodley the games developer Trickstar faced issues during the latter stages of development, adding that “they have been unable to do the requisite amount of polishing and fine-tuning which any game needs”.
“We are confident that the time between now and the second Ashes series will be enough to add the final polish we believe the game needs. We are committed, as we always have been, to releasing a great game and we are doing everything in our power to ensure this is the case.”
Ashes Cricket 2013 is expected to arrive for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U this November.
