PlayStation 4 Arrives In Time For Christmas, Cheaper Than Xbox One
Sony announced at their E3 press conference that the PlayStation 4 will arrive in the UK in time for Christmas at a £349 price-point, coming in cheaper than Microsoft’s Xbox One.
For your cash you’ll get a 500GB “Jet Black” machine, along with a DualShock 4 controller, headset and all the necessary wires. The PlayStation Eye camera is not bundled with the console, and will be sold separately for around £45. Additional DualShock 4 controllers will set you back £55.
Driveclub and Killzone: Shadow Fall were confirmed as launch titles for the new home console.
Unlike Microsoft, who have come under fire for their new used-game policies, Sony made it perfectly clear on how things will work with the PS4. Put simply the PlayStation 4 will not restrict used games at all or require you to connect your console online for periodic checks. Pretty simple, right:
Sony Computer Entertainment CEO and President Andrew House spoke about what was revealed at their E3 conference:
“It’s a very compelling price that offers incredible value given the entertainment PS4 will offer users over the next decade and beyond. True consumer ownership and consumer trust are essential to everything we do. With each new platform we do everything we can to earn that trust.”
