UK Chart: Dead Space 3 Shoots Top Yet Disappoints
Dead Space 3 launches as the most successful début of the year, but falls 26.6% short of the sales made during the launch week of its predecessor.
In terms of split on the multi-platform title, the Xbox 360 version is increasing in popularity with a gain over the PlayStation 3 – 65%/31% for Dead Space 3 and 56%/40% for Dead Space 2. PC sales remaining relatively small with 4% sales each.
Much of the top ten remains from the previous week – FIFA 13 (-9%), Call of Duty: Blacks Ops II (-12%), Far Cry 3 (+3%) and Hitman: HD Trilogy (-30%) complete the top five.
Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (-63%) follows an impressive début with a tumble from first to sixth, suffering from a single platform release. Remaining in place, Need for Speed Most Wanted (-17%), Just Dance 4 (-15%) and Hitman Absolution (-19%) form the rest of the top ten, bar Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed (+50%) which shoots up the chart to tenth after a 3DS release this week.
