UK Chart: Hitman Absolution Marks Successes
Hitman Absolution executes the best launch week for the franchise, outselling the 2006 release of Hitman: Blood Money, by nearly three to one. Unfortunately, it is not enough to break Call of Duty: Black Ops II, which despite an 81% drop in sales over last week, maintains the top position.
FIFA 13 gathers a small 2% increase in sales ahead of Assassin’s Creed III, remaining at third and fourth respectively. Halo 4 (-26%) tumbles to the bottom of the top five from third.
LEGO: The Lord of the Rings, from Cheshire based developer Traveller’s Tales, takes sixth in its opening week, ahead of the New Zealand premiere of The Hobbit film this week. Just Dance 4 (+39%) sticks in at seventh ahead of Skylanders Giants (+12%), the latter dropping from fifth. Need for Speed Most Wanted (-8%) is another to drop three places, but has the edge over Dishonoured (+79%), which returns to the top ten after sales.
Udraw Studio (+406%) returns to the chart after another set of sales boost it to thirteenth. Other new entries include Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two at thirty-fourth, Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse at thirty-fifth and Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale at thirty-eighth.
