In the run up to its release on October 2nd, Capcom will set up shop in London’s Smithfield Meat Market to promote the launch of Resident Evil 6.
Bespoke edible ‘human’ limbs, including Peppered Human & Lemon Sausages and J’avo Caught Human Thigh Steaks, will be available for purchase from ”Wesker & Son’s Resident Evil Human Butchery” in the market on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th September.
The full menu on offer at the pop-up butchery includes not only meaty treats, but also some dubious sounding cocktails. Alongside the edible hands, feet and heads will be ‘Licker’ tongue sandwiches and revolting ‘Stool sample’ and ‘Puss’ cocktails. Appetizing!
Beyond buying questionable meat, fans of the survival horror series can also enjoy a two day lecture series at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Pathology Museum. Dr. Morgaine Gaye, a Food Futurologist, will delve into the future trends of a meaty diet. Prof. John Oxford, a virologists, will investigate whether the game’s C-Virus will ever be a reality.
Those wishing to attend the unique lectures can sign up at either residentevilcannibal.eventbrite.co.uk or residentevilvirus.eventbrite.co.uk for the lectures starting Friday 28th September (tomorrow!).
Adam Merrett, UK PR manager for Capcom stated:
“We, at Capcom, are thrilled to be bringing Wesker & Son’s to Smithfields.
If the C-Virus was to become a reality, there would be No Hope Left in the world, and so we want to create the scare and tension that fans and new players will experience in Resident Evil 6 into the real world.”
We’re disappointed to see no ‘brains’ on offer at the butchers, but the meat that is available claims to look revolting, but taste delicious. We’ll let you decide.
