Sleeping Dogs beat New Super Mario Bros. 2 to the top of the UK Chart last week, helped by the latter’s single platform release on Nintendo 3DS. Multi-platform release Sleeping Dogs, from Canadian developer United Front Games, hits the chart as the sixth best release of 2012.
After the conclusion of the London Olympics, Sega’s London 2012: The Official Video Game (-37%) drops to third. Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes drops two places to fourth despite a 20% gain in sales. Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is another to drop two places, from third with an 18% drop in copies sold over last week, giving us some indication as to the difference between fourth and fifth place.
Batman: Arkham City and The Amazing Spider-Man grasp sixth and seventh respectively, as Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (+46%) and Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 (+94%) jump to eighth and tenth thanks to price reductions. Dead Island: GOTY Edition is the only game in the top ten to remain in position at ninth.
