This week saw the release of a brand new trailer for Joe Danger 2 – The Movie alongside a few tasty morsels of information to whet your appetite for its release later this year.
While the first game focused solely on stuntman Joe Danger taking on the various levels on his trusty bike, the sequel certainly can’t be knocked for lack of variety. In this brief trailer you’ll see a monkey on skis, Joe strapped into a jetpack, a bear on a unicycle and of course a cupcake on a motorbike. Just the standard stuff really.
The game is set to feature 100 levels, 50 characters and 20 different vehicles but the Sean Murray at Hello Games is keen to point out that despite those impressive figures it still “doesn’t really do it justice”. Each level is a scene in the overall big movie that gamers are making as they play and a trailer of your accomplishments is shown at the end of each act for your viewing pleasure.
They’re not just content with adding new content but also significant new features in the form of online level sharing to capitalise on the simple yet satisfying level creator introduced in the first game, replays that get uploaded into the cloud as well as online or offline multiplayer. Although the trailer cites ‘coming soon’ as a release date, Murray informs us that Autumn is the likely date.
Hello Games will also be at Gamescom next week, Hall 7 – Booth C020 to be specific, ready and raring to show off what they’ve been working on to the public.
As you can see from our review of the XBLA release of Joe Danger: Special Edition we’re quite keen on the title, let’s just hope that the developers can continue this trend through the the sequel. It’s certainly looking very promising.
