Published July 9, 2012 by |

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (-30%) makes it three weeks at number one, despite the best efforts of London 2012, with a massive 81% increase in sales placing it second, up from fourth. Film tie-in The Amazing Spider-Man (-15%) and Spec Ops: The Line (-24%) both drop one place to third and fourth respectively. Dead Island Game Of The Year (GOTY) Edition takes fifth in its release week, ten months after the original release which led the game to be crowned the second biggest new IP of 2011 behind Rockstar’s L.A. Noire.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is up one place to sixth, as FIFA 12 falls two places to seventh following the final weekend of the EURO 2012 tournament. Thanks to retailer promotions, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 once again rises up the chart, this time a massive twenty-six places to eighth with a 193% increase in sales, making it 30 out of 35 weeks in the top ten since release. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is down three places from sixth to ninth whilst FIFA Street marches up the table from fourteenth to tenth.

There are two other releases in the top 40 this week: Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy marks nineteenth position on its 3DS debut, and new EA MMO The Secret World just makes it into the top 40 at thirty-eighth.
