UK Chart: Final Fantasy XIII-2 & Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Break-In At The Top

Final Fantasy XIII-2

The sequel to the fastest-selling Final Fantasy game in the franchise, Final Fantasy XIII-2 comes in at the top position this week, followed by the remastered Metal Gear Solid HD Collection in at second, breaking FIFA 12’s hold over 2012 chart dominance.

Battlefield 3 pushes some strong sales this week climbing two places to third with a sales gain of 47%. The long standing weekly-bestseller FIFA 12 falls to fourth place with a seven percent sales drop over last week on all platforms. This week’s new releases finish in the top five with Soulcalibur V debuting at fifth, in what seems to be a difficult week, considering it’s predecessor launched at the top spot in August of 2008.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations jumps three places to sixth, whilst Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Just Dance 3 plummet five places each to seventh, eighth and ninth respectively. After the announcement of a Q3 loss of over £35 million and the future layoffs of “up to 240 selling, general and administrative personnel worldwide”, THQ marks a new month with their prized asset, Saint’s Row: The Third, clinging onto the top ten.

Praise the lord, Zumba Fitness and its sequel sit happily at eleventh and thirteenth respectively. Full top-ten run down after the jump.
