UK Chart: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Claims Ground Before The Christmas Rush
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 marked a 2% sales increase as it’s first since launch, presenting a successive week in charge at the top of the UK All Format Chart. Perhaps this is a sign of things to come, just a fortnight ahead of the Christmas weekend. FIFA 12’s courageous efforts lift it to second with a 30% increase in sales, edging ahead of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations with a 2% dip in sales. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (-7%) is powerless to resist the unrelenting force that is Just Dance 3, with the immensely popular Wii title strolling into picture with +54% sales over last week.
Saints Row: The Third claims the largest sales loss of the week’s Top 10 with -24%, yet it controls sixth position. Battlefield 3 splits a string of Nintendo titles at ninth, with Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call (-9%) at seventh, newly launched Mario Kart 7 at eighth and Super Mario 3D Land (+20%) rounding off the Top 10.
